There are so many incredible entries, the task of sorting, judging and curating from the massive pool of creativity and talent that we see with each festival run is monumental. There are so many good choices, and simply not enough awards every year.

Higher Methods
Higher Methods is the story of Matthew, an actor whose sister went missing years prior. One day he’s at the movies and sees his sister as an extra who hasn’t aged a day. He embarks on a quest to find out what happens to her. He spirals down a rabbit hole into the dark, cultish world of drug addicts, freaks, the black sheep, the wannabe actors led by a menacing and intellectual acting mentor.

Despite a bitter depression over the poor reception of his debut film, “Murder Box”, in September of 2020, filmmaker/comedian Gerald Varga, aka "Gerry Geraldson", began work on a new creative endeavor.

The Tell Tale Heart - Narrator's Theme Song
Sonny Grimsley descends into madness as he is haunted by the “evil eye” of the Old Man. Sonny murders the Old Man in his bed and hides his body under the floorboards. Sonny’s frail mind begins to unravel when Detective Tucker and Officer Sharpe come to inquire about the Old Man’s whereabouts.

The main character is a young man. He has everything, but he doesn’t really feel or enjoy anything, he’s bored. He explores a hidden, underground club, Calliope, in a hope of fulfilling his desire for adventure. The bizarre, kinky, dark and decadent world of Calliope reveals for him, plays with him, then starts to absorb him. The club shows its real self. The exiting fantasy world at the beginning transforms into a horroristic nightmare, where you never want to return to... do you?
